Glam For The Cure Event Review

The 2nd Annual "GLAM FOR THE CURE" event was on April 21st at Olive or Twist and it was a great success! CEO of Style & Steel Event Planning Wadria Taylor and her partner Fashion Stylist/ Wardrobe Consultant Lakisha Pattin were the perfect hostess'.
...and GLAM it was with PINK as the preferred color of the night and the signature "Glamtini" drink!

The evening began with a sexy show by Exotic Hush Lingerie...

Then there was entertainment with Poetry and Spoken Word by I am Sincere, Ezra, Bekezela Mguni & Jacquea Mae...

And Neo Soul Singing by Bohemian Soul and Bridgette Perdue!

Sheek and funky fashions by Saani Mac (I love the printed black & white pants paired with a color splashed denim jacket)!

And Vendors Lia Sophia Jewelry, Traci Lynn Jewelry, Mary Kay, DeFace Makeup Artistry, Ardyss International, Sabika Stratagem Jewelry, Third Day Luxury Soaps, Pretty Nail Salon, Posh Nail Boutique, Fitness with a Twist and Raven Bean owner of Shades of You Salon!

These lovely ladies are trendsetters with a style all their own! I love the hand printed poetry denim patched skirt, the floral print maxi dress worn unbuttoned over black leggings with wide waist belt, and the African inspired hand painted long pink dress!

Many guests were in attendance for this lovely charity event including myself, my friends Camberly Abajian and Kathye Sears.

Guest Iyana Tennon founder of Virtuous Academy knows all too well about supporting a worthy cause!

Fauna Solomon founder of thedatingtruth.com is dressed to impress in this fuchsia romper and black blazer with the trendy nude patent leather platform pump and friend ironically wearing her boyfriend jacket over a white dress with pale pink t-strap heels!

These ladies are relaxing in style & comfort wearing Jockey Person to Person fashions for which they are representatives as also seen here during yet another fashion show that evening.

More local celebs were in the house...Diane Daniels business editor for the New Pittsburgh Courier & Soul Pitt Media...

And at the end of the night there was only one winner of the raffle bag full of prizes from the vendors such as jewelry, spas & gift certificates...Camberly Abajian!!!

We all should support events like this going on all over the city! Contact Wadria Taylor at https://www.facebook.com/l.php?u=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.styleandsteel.net%2F&h=3eb38 for your event planning needs and your first event consultation will be FREE!

MACY'S Spring Fashion Presentation & Luncheon

Macy's Downtown on my lunch break to LOOK at some clothing (shop)when I stumbled upon a full fledge fashion show (that's been happening a lot lately if there's any question of what my career path should be)!?! Macy's Spring Fashion Show Luncheon was hosted by New York Celebrity Stylist Jerelyn Zontini

They presented "Pale Neutrals" for Day, Evening & Weekend Wear with this Ralph Lauren linen set w/floral ruffle blouse and this Ellen Tracy Brocade lace jacket & black wide leg trouser and this Calvin Klein Voile roll-tab shirt, animal print tank & linen blend wide leg pant!

"Pinktastic" is what they called this floral Ikat print shift dress by Jones Sig. w/ a pop of color wedged sandal and this Eileen Fisher washable linen shaped shirt w/ white leggings.

Next were the "Moody Blues" with this bold print cinched waist dress paired with black Capri leggings which can be seen on and bought off the mannequin on the 4th floor of Macy's downtown Pittsburgh.

And this Alfini Abstract print soft blouse that can be found on the 5th floor Women's Department that's with elastic gathering for a great waist line look paired with a Heathered wide leg pant and this Pearlized linen jacket!

Here Jerelyn demonstrates how this matching beach cover up can be paired with this Ombre tank for a great breezy look while also sharing info about Lancome's makeover specials going on now...just in time for Mother's Day!!! Jerelyn did several on-stage transformations including belts, scarves & shoes!

And for a more business casual look go with these bluesy looks from CK Dress this Cowl neck wisteria dress and this Calvin Klein Chambray gray single button jacket & matching trouser.

Why not "White Hot"? All the All-White parties will be coming up this Spring and Summer so why not make your white HOT with this Michael Kors white sequin dress or for a Spring day at the park in this INC white sequin top & peasant skirt or look Hot at the office in this Jones NY washable linen jacket & matching pant w/ Ombre tank?

And for special occasions this Tahari Black/White sleeveless suit seen here with a white embellished hat with black trim. This model also had a twin in the audience but I'm sure she didn't mind...after all this high class look was being adorned by someone who will be attending the Royal Wedding of Kate & William tomorrow!!! How many of you can say that?

Don't let Macy's fool you that they don't have a Wild Side because this Michael Kors black knit cozy, zebra print cut-out shoulder blouse and white cotton sateen pant can be tamed for work and later let out for play!!!

Speaking of which, last were these "Work to Dinner" Dresses by Alfani & INC! I love the mix of spring colors with this floral dress, aqua sheath and straw clutch! And this model makes you want to skip work and go straight to dinner in this golden sleeveless dress and nude strappy platform sandal!!!

After the show patrons were treated to raffle prizes the first prize going to my fellow church member Rose Coleman!!! Two great spring scarves! And this lucky winner received a straw floppy hat seen in the show which ironically went very well with her outfit! She was even asked on stage to model it!

And this lucky winner received a full box of fragrances! I love how the ladies are so in style with the different versions of animal prints!!!

For $10 you got a $10 Macy's Gift Card, a boxed lunch and a Great Show....that's what I call a Great Lunchtime Deal!
